what is NCETC?
A nonprofit corporation, the North Carolina Educational Technology Conference provides leadership and service to improve teaching and learning in PreK-12 and teacher education through the effective use of technology. NCETC exists for the sole purpose of planning and sponsoring this annual event. The first conference was held in 1988 in Greensboro to provide a venue for educators interested in the integration of technology into education. Its success and the response of educators and vendors further validated the need for this annual event. NCETC has become more than a North Carolina technology conference, drawing presenters, exhibitors and attendees from other states and even other countries. Attendance this year is anticipated to exceed 2000 participants.
NCETC is celebrating its twenty-second year of service to educators and to those entities and persons who support technology education. Due to the economic situation that is impacting many of our vendors and all school systems in North Carolina, we will not be holding the early December conference as we have for the past twenty-two years but are in the process of gathering information to rethink the NCETC format. By doing so, we hope to both better meet the needs of and match the financial options of our educators and business partners as we move forward. We thank you for your past support and encourage you to watch the NCETC website for updates! In the future, we will continue to bring together educators, computing professionals, publishers, students, industry representatives and experts, and policy makers. Join us at our next event to think, discuss, teach, learn and plan strategies for putting technology to better use in education.
